Meta tags may not be as big of an influence on search engines as they used to be but they still are a factor in your ranking. Your keywords should be 100% relevant to what is in the text of your page. You should not include words in your keyword meta tag if they do not appear in your web page. Some search engines even penalize sites that include words in their meta tags that are not in their page text. So, always include relevant keywords in your meta tags and place your most important one at the beginning.
